Health And Wellness Plan » health plans
What is health and wellness network marketing? It is a most perfect concept! It gives you the chance to offer your prospect the chance of meeting the three most important needs in their life: health, wealth, and happiness!
So this all sounds great but how do you choose what company will do this?
It is true that there are literally hundreds of different health and wellness network marketing businesses popping up all the time. They offer a wide variety of products from non toxic household cleaners to supplements. The key in choosing the best company for you is that they must have life changing consumable products that are unique and different.
Before even looking at the products make sure you determine they are coming from a sound business. When you are looking at joining a new company, pay close attention to the time they have been in business. If you are looking to build long term income it is better to stick with a company that has at least a five year track record. Check out the company’s management, finances, and compensation plan.
Wellness visit:
Some health insurance plans include an annual wellness visit as part of their preventive care benefits. A wellness visit is usually an annual physical. Typically, it is not covered by your copay unless the plan specifically states that it does. This is where people get into problems. They don’t know that there is a difference between a wellness visit and a sickness visit. Consequently, they end up having to pay $200 to $400 for the wellness visit. Don’t rely on your doctor to give you a heads up. They don’t know what your insurance plan covers.
Of course, the insurance company wants to make sure that you stay healthy. It is good for you to get the physical because many times, some abnormality if caught early can save time, money, and perhaps your life. They want to catch changes in your health early because it could potentially cost them less in claims.
Sickness visit:
A sickness visit is covered by your copay. If you wake up one morning and have a sore throat or the flu, you may feel that you need to see the doctor. Since you are sick, this should be covered by your copay.
Worksite wellness for their employees, employers are discovering, is good for the health of their businesses as well. Health and wellness programs help to cut the costs associated with poor employee health, which include absenteeism, loss of productivity and poor work quality.
A recent Hewitt Associates survey of over 500 US companies indicated a significant paradigm shift in how companies view health benefits for their employees. Of those surveyed this year, 88% are committed to instituting long-term health care assistance programs (over the next 3-5 years) for their employees, with the goal of boosting the health and productivity of their workforce. This represents a 25% increase in interest in worksite wellness programs over 2007.
A strong offering of health and wellness programs to meet the demand has resulted. Health assistance providers have broadened their programs with tools that address general lifestyle factors, physical, social and psychological health factors. Programs look to predict chronic disease in their employees and give them the tools and the information to prevent it. Companies also demand a way to measure the effectiveness of their healthcare spending.
Are you interested in a career in integrative health and wellness? Integrative health and wellness training and educational programs that are offered at holistic, traditional, and alternative medicine schools to practicing healthcare professionals may include but are not limited to a comprehensive curriculum including courses in acupuncture; chiropractic care; Chinese medicine; conventional medicine; nutritional counseling; and stress management classes.
Part of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM); integrative health and wellness educational courses offer learning platforms based on the whole person. Teaching mind-body medicine and disease prevention coursework, integrative health and wellness programs provide diverse treatment classes and training that combine alternative, complementary and conventional medicine that promote natural healing.
Integrative health and wellness training institutions may offer certification in graduate-level courses to health care professionals who wish to expand their medicine expertise. While integrative health and wellness courses vary in curriculum, length and cost, it is always best to check with specific educational institutions to find the learning program that best fits your particular needs.
Several years ago, I had heard of coaching and even used a coach or two, but it was more for getting myself organized and getting my life pointed in the right direction. Like a counselor or a good friend (with expertise!), my coaches helped me to find perspective in my life and helped me get a clear view on where I was struggling. Once I could see the trouble spots, we were able to formulate a specific plan that I had to work and follow until our next meeting. At each meeting we’d review the previous one, discuss how I was coming along with my goals, troubles I might be having attaining those goals or completing tasks, and then coach on those or move on to new goals.
What I didn’t realize is that the coaching I was receiving was helping to change me on the inside and my practice was then changing, too! I was becoming a Health and Wellness Coach. Today, I’m able to consult with patients and clients, to help them realize their health challenges, coach them to set goals for improving their health and well-being, and then chart a course with them to get them to where they want to be.
Here is how I explain coaching:

A health plan is a subscription-based medical care arrangement such as a HMO, PPO, or POS plan. This is similar to pre-paid dental, pre-paid legal, and pre-paid vision plans.
The health plan pays for a fixed number of services (for instance, $300 in preventive care, 180 days of hospice care, 50 home health visits, 40 days in a skilled nursing facility, 30 spinal manipulation charges, no “custodial care,” an indeterminate number of days of hospital care, etc., and the patient pays the rest. The number of hospital days that the plan covers is usually at the discretion of a Utilization review nurse who is contracted through the Managed Care entity providing the subscription health plan. This utilization determination may be made either prior to or after hospital admission (concurrent utilization review).
